Since the childhood the owner of stud-farm is passionate by the horses. Born in a family of farmers he has been always in a touch with this magnificent animal and started very early to have an interest not only for riding horses but also for breeding them. Twenty years old he already earned first three Lusitanian’s mares: “Franquesa” with the brand Trancas, “Imperial” with the brand Sommer and “Egoista” with the brand Malta. These mares were in the stud-farm Quina, which doesn’t exist anymore, but was sufficient famous by its bullfighting horses. The animals which were born from these mares already were marked with brand ferro1.PNG: “Galeto” (Coral x Imperial) which was stallion of Dr. eguas_coudelaria.jpgAntónio Capoulas stud-farm and “Gitana” (Coral x Egoísta) which was in the stud-farm of engineer Alexandre Calheiros Ferreira. After creating excellent animals with the mare “Gitana” in the stud-farm of Calheiros Ferreira, it was sold to Belgium to Anne Catherine Frayse. The mare continues to produce excellent animals and some of them are champions of the race in Belgium.
In 1990 engineer João Lynce together with engineer Calheiros Ferreira initiated a project by creating new stud-farm on the basis of Quina`s stud-farm’s produced animals and by joining more horses (“Ribatejo”, “Novilheiro” and “Coral”). In the same time the stud-farm JPL was expanded by other reproducing animals mainly with mares: a daughter of “Zaquiro”, a daughter of “Opus”, a daughter of “Novilheiro”, a daughter of “Trinco” and a daughter of “Nilo”. In 2004 were joined more mares with the brand Calheiros Ferreira produced from horses “Maravilha”, “Zique”, “Urque” and of course from “Ribatejo” and “Coral”.
